*FIRST NEW YORK REVIVAL* *Voted in Top Ten New York Theatre Experiences of 2012* |
March 9th - 25th, 2012 The Violet Hour imaginatively explores questions we have all pondered, knowing that we would never be faced with dealing with the answers: What would I do if I knew the future? Would I change the choices I make now? Would I succumb to the hopelessness of a predetermined life? This last question is the closet to the heart of the matter in Richard Greenberg’s dazzling and whimsical comedy, and the characters within are truly faced with coming up with the answer. The Violet Hour asks if you would have the courage, when surrounded by fear and uncertainty, to grab the reins and lead your life in the direction of your desires. |

THE CRITICS
Nominated for "Outstanding Remounted Production of a Play" at the NYIT AWARDS "The Active Theater, as usual, gives a sterling production...
This highly intellectual play is definitely worth a look."
"Greenberg’s play, which mixes existentialism, science fiction, comedy and social commentary in a most unique way, provides the kind of challenge this relatively young company needs to cut its teeth on. It was a pleasure seeing the material so well handled." NYTheatre-Wire.com
