Sarah Shahinian is honored to be on the staff of this exciting new company working with people who inspire her every day. In 2010, she played "Leigh" in Magnetic North for Active Theater before hitting the road as an original cast member of the 25th Anniversary production of Les Misérables where she understudied (and occasionally performed) the role of Eponine. Most recently, Sarah directed RESPECT: A Musical Journey of Women at the Lyceum Theater in San Diego. Other acting credits include OKLAHOMA! ("Ado Annie" – Revival National Tour & Fulton Opera House), Little Women ("Jo" - Syracuse Stage), Les Misérables ("Eponine" - Houston TUTS), Picnic at Hanging Rock (Lincoln Center & The O’Neill Theater Center), Married Alive and Magnetic North (Act 2 Playhouse), Oedipus at Colonus (Handcart Ensemble), Stephen Schwartz’s Snapshots ("Susie"). TV: Guiding Light (CBS), The Band (NYTVF). As a director, Sarah has also assisted Bud Martin, Gabriel Barre, and Scott C. Embler on several projects in NYC and Philadelaphia, as well as Active's own Nathaniel Shaw on our 2012 production of Body Language. In 2005, Sarah started her website design company, Saranya Designs, which includes this very website! She is also an animal lover and NYU Tisch graduate.
